816. Matters arising from
the Minutes:
It was noted that Cllr. Lewis was to attend a memorial service for Sir Tasker Watkins at Llandaff Cathedral. It was agreed that the Chairman would accompany him.
817. Report from the Police
representative:
Members were again disappointed at the lack of police attendance. No apologies had been received.
The Clerk reported that a letter had [today] been received from Inspector Walsh, apologising for lack of attendance at the September meeting and indicating that an officer would be present tonight.
It was Resolved to write to the Inspector to request that when it is known that officers cannot attend, a written report on current issues (including statistics and progress with PACT) be provided where possible.

Further information, as requested, on proposed
development at Bryn Quarry.
The Clerk reported that the Council’s concerns
regarding this proposed development had been submitted to the
Planning Department as had been resolved at the October
meeting.
Members examined the plans for the proposed
development and confirmed that the building, due to its size, colour and
construction, could be detrimental to the landscape as it could be seen from
many parts of Nelson.

Members welcomed the proposal to cut the hedges back more vigorously
and earlier in the
season, before nesting takes place.

Nomination of a Minor
Authority Governor at Llanfabon Infant’s School:
Councillor Alen Candy was Nominated. The Clerk would inform the Clerk to the Governors.

Review of Community
Boundaries:
Members felt that even with the rapid expansion of the village over recent years, the current boundary arrangements were satisfactory and should not be changed. Due to the topography of the area there was little scope for change in any event. The Clerk would reply to the Boundary Commission.
822. Community Council Christmas Newsletter:
The draft Newsletter was Received and Adopted. The Clerk requested that any errors be brought to his attention before it went to print.
823. Report on the
The
Clerk reported on progress with the project.
He
had met on site with officers of CCBC to review progress.
There
had also been a site meeting with Barbara Anglezarke.
Generally, it was felt that the project was progressing satisfactorily and that
works already carried out were acceptable.
Orders
had been placed for the Youth Shelter, new path and tree works. The main item still outstanding was the
interpretive panels. The Clerk would follow this up with CCBC.

There
was no report from NVP.

Members of the public expressed their disappointment at the lack of any
police presence.
